Oh the irony of it all. They call me a snow-bird back home in Anchorage for having left the sub-zero weather of Alaska for sunny California. But today my truck is parked of the side of highway 79, which is closed for 5 to 6 hours, while power line crews clear a tree that fell across the highway and onto the powerlines. So I walked home, and while my batteries hold I can post this online. Luckily I made a trip to the liquor store and the library yesterday so I'm all set.
Several snow plows worked tirelessly to keep the roads open. But there is nothing they could do to stop the heavy snow from felling the trees across the road and into the powerlines.
