Knik Glacier is only 20 mins by air to the NE of Anchorage. Recently a small ephemeral lake opened ontop of the glacier. A few days later it was filled in with icebergs again.
Step taxi on the new Knik Lake back in 2004 when it was a small clear water finger. Now it is a big silty laden lake.
